Located 48 miles about an hour's drive south of Atlanta and about 50 miles northwest of Macon, this town of just over 1,300 people is the county seat of Pike County. Both were named in honor of Louisiana Purchase Explorer Zebulon Montgomery Pike, who also discovered and gave his name to Pike's Peak in Colorado.
• With a historic square that dates to 1895, Zebulon honors its past, but is moving into the future by completing local Streetscape projects to revitalize the downtown district and restore the old Zebulon School.
